Are IEPs or 504s stressing you out?

At Sankofa Ed, we understand how overwhelming special education systems can feel, especially when they fail to reflect the lived experiences of Black families and students. You deserve an advocate who will listen deeply, uplift your voice, and ensure your child’s brilliance is never reduced to deficits or paperwork.

We walk alongside you to bring clarity, transparency, and accountability into every meeting. Our approach is grounded in connection and collaboration, making sure your child’s IEP or 504 plan is not only written with care but also carried out with fidelity and respect.

Together, we can reimagine advocacy so that your child’s dignity and potential always lead the way.

Sankofa, a word from the Akan people of Ghana meaning “go back and fetch it.” It teaches us that we must return to the wisdom of our past in order to move forward. At Sankofa Ed, this principle grounds our advocacy: honoring the voices and struggles of our ancestors while reimagining education in ways that affirm joy, dignity, and brilliance for generations to come.
